We had a blast today. After we got up, we had a great breakfast of homemade vanilla french toast. Then we got the kids dressed up in their snow clothes and headed outside. We got my quad out and I took Brian for a long ride around our “neighborhood” a few times. Then, I braved it and took Leslie for a ride...that girl loved it! She held on just right, was leaning into the curves with me, and was screaming “weeeee” for most of the time. Once we got back home, Rick and I tore up our yard on the quad. It is so fun to plow through a foot of snow on that thing, we were like little kids. The kids took turns with us as well, and really had a blast today.
We also tried out the sled that my Uncle Kimmy got Brian for Xmas. This is the first time that we’ve had enough snow, and had it be warm enough to take the kids out on it. At first I tried pulling it around the yard, but since it’s flat, it didn’t do so great. Then I pulled it up on the driveway, and realized that there is just enough of a slope that the kids could ride it down, and hit the snow bank to stop. Also, it was a slow enough ride it didn’t scare them, and they both practiced steering it, and learning how to balance. They sure went down for a nap easy this afternoon.
