I've been a very bad blogger lately.
A lot of it had to do with the election. In order to not piss off certain people in my life, I kept quiet about my activities in the last few months. But it is over now. I can come clean.
I CAMPAIGNED FOR BARACK OBAMA, FULL STEAM AHEAD!
This is the very first time I've been move, or compelled, or whatever to take action. I'm thrilled about the outcome obviously.
I'm done being quiet though. During the past few months of internal reflection, I've realized silence really is the poison that lies inside of us all. Being complacint, being apathetic, is not a good thing.
As I have heard so many people say, in the last few months, I am a "staunch" Democrat, spawn of Democrats.
I've done much soul searching, and I can't go back to where I was. Too much is at stake in our country. I am so relieved we have elected Senator Obama to be our next president. I could go on and on about what has been done to our country during the last 8 years of the Bush administration, but I'm not going to here. I may start a new blog to rant and rave and for those of you who want to hear my soapbox preachings.
I took Brian with me to Obama Headquarters a few times, he really thought it was cool, that is once he got over the fact that Barack Obama was not going to be there when we were. He did much coloring, and hung out.
Brian started Kindergarten. He is doing really well so far. He is a bit shy like his mamma, but I suppose that is to be expected. He is really good at math, and I have no idea where he is getting this, he is also very good at coloring and artwork. His penmanship is not great, again, I have NO idea where he gets this from.
Little Miss Leslie is now in the 90'th percentile on her height. Imagine my little 2.5oz baby, now being in the 90th percentile on height, and 60th percentile on weight? It's amazing. She is amazing with her wild curls and bright blue eyes.
Both kids were Spiderman for Halloween. This was all good because I already had the costumes and did not have to buy them. We bought a bunch of costumes after Halloween for them to play dress up in. Leslie is so into her "Dora" clothes, everything is all about "Dora" clothes. What is funny is she is not that into the actual show anymore. She is way more into Caillou.
Now that we are nearing the holidays, I wanted to get back on track with my blog. I really miss it.
I drove down to see Grandma last weekend, and spent the weekend in a nice hotel by myself, and spent a lot of time with Grandma. I went out to lunch with my cousin Darcy, just her and I and I really wish I had more time I could have spent with her. That was the first time in years and years I believe that we actually saw each other with no kids in tow. I missed seeing her kids, but I was nursing a bad cold, and really just needed some down time.
I think Rick and I have decided that in the spring, we will take the camper down to Casper for a few days, and hang out with everyone, see Grandma, and just relax for a few days. I'm sure the KOA will be to our liking.
I bought a new camera this fall, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. It is a Canon Powershot IS5. It's much nicer than the one I had, which still works, but I've been able to get some very cool video's on it as well. I'm not even really sure we need the cam-corder anymore.
I took a few pictures of Grandma and Mary, while I was visiting. I'm going to post them in a photo album, and if I can figure out how to get the video on here, I will do that as well. Grandma looked really good, and I was surprised how good Mary looked at almost 99. For anyone that doesn't know, Mary is my grandma Edna's sister. Edna has now passed away, but Mary is still going strong.
LOVE your Gramma! Also love Mary. "A couple of old skeeters." hahaha I love old skeeters. My gramma is 89. lol
